How to compress a PDF (make it smaller)
Big PDF that will not attach to an email? Shrink it in your browser, free and privately.
Steps
1. Open the Compress PDF tool.
2. Choose your PDF.
3. Pick a level — from Low (best quality) to Extreme (smallest). Turn on Grayscale for even smaller scanned files.
4. Click Compress and download the smaller PDF.
How it works
Compression mainly helps image-heavy or scanned PDFs by re-encoding the page images at a smaller size. Text-only PDFs are already small, so if a file cannot be made smaller, A2Z PDF simply keeps the original — you never end up with a bigger file.
Tip
Start with Medium. If the file is still too big, try High or Extreme, and enable grayscale for scans where colour is not important.
