Is A2Z PDF really free?
Yes. The online tools are free to use with no sign-up. The desktop app is also a free download.
Are my files safe? Do you upload them?
Most tools (merge, split, rotate, images to PDF, watermark, page numbers, compress and more) run 100% in your browser — your files are never uploaded. The conversion tools (Word/Excel/PowerPoint and OCR) use a secure server and your file is deleted right after the conversion finishes.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The website works in any modern browser. If you want the heavier tools to run faster on big files, you can download the free desktop app.
Why does the desktop app show a Windows warning?
The app is not yet code-signed, so Windows shows a “Windows protected your PC” message for any new app. Click More info → Run anyway. The app is safe.
Which file types are supported?
PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), and images such as JPG and PNG. OCR turns scanned PDFs into editable text.
Is there a file size limit?
Browser tools are limited mainly by your device’s memory. The free conversion server accepts files up to about 15 MB and 20 pages; for larger files, use the desktop app.
